Giles Ltd were about to release their new, rebranded catalogue and wanted to coincide it with the launch of their new website. They needed a site where they could easily publish their book catalogue and keep their distributor contact details updated. Their previous site had been neglected, was a chore to update and was largely ignored by search engines.
This was a fun and straightforward project. It was created from scratch and optimised for better search engine ranking. The process of planning the architecture and developing the back end went hand in hand. Production was made all the more easier thanks to Alfonso Iacurci, Giles’ print designer, who designed the initial site design comps.
Since the site’s editors were not tech-savvy, particular attention was given to making the system deftly simple to use. Adding book titles to the catalogue is a straightforward process requiring only the content to be added to the relevant fields. Selecting a publishing date, on the other hand, handles the automated movement of forthcoming titles into published ones once the assigned date has expired.
